1. Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are natural supplements that are found in foods such as fish and have been known to help reduce inflammation and joint pain.

The effect is musculoskeletal pain which may lead to Osteoporosis. To get your body to make the Vitamin D it needs you need to expose yourself to sunshine.

If that is not sufficient, then you need a Vitamin D supplement that is prescribed by your doctor.

The effects of Vitamin D treatment may not be felt immediately for your chronic back pain but you will begin to notice the difference with time.

It works by rebuilding your weak bones which will, in turn, reduce your back pain.

3. MSM

Methylsulfonylmethane is a natural component found in humans, plants, and animals, it can also be made in a laboratory.

People take MSM to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation. It is also conversant with people that suffer from osteoarthritis pain.

While there is no recommended daily allowance for MSM, people take about 1-6 grams per day for up to 16 weeks.

4. Magnesium

Magnesium is a mineral found in many of our diets and can often be taken as a supplement. It can be found naturally in foods like greens, nuts, seeds, wheat, oat bran, etc.

Magnesium deficiency can cause muscle spasms, chronic low back pain and neck pain, and also fibromyalgia.

Magnesium can be taken as a supplement and has an RDA(recommended daily allowance) of 400-420 mg for men and 31–320 mg for women.

5. Turmeric

Turmeric is a herb root that belongs to the family of ginger, often found in curries.

It contains a chemical called curcumin which is anti-inflammatory. It is effective for reducing inflammation and acts as a pain reliever for those suffering from chronic pain.

Tumeric can be added to foods or taken as a tea, it also comes in powered capsule formats.

6. Vitamin C

Vitamin C has many health benefits and promotes a healthy immune system, but one of the ways it helps with back pain is that it supports the creation of collagen. This helps the formation of ligaments, tendons, and good bone quality.

Vitamin C deficiency has been linked to the reduction in collagen levels which is part of the reason some people may experience low back pain, neck pain, etc.

The daily RDA for Vitamin C is 90mg for adult men and 75mg daily for adult women.
